In her travels as a motivational speaker
and spoken word artist,
Simply Sil has performed in several venues

York’s Nuroyican Café, Atlantas 7 stages Theatre,
The Loft The
Roof, The Jaya Monkey Café, Tennessee State University,
The Frothy Monkey, Vanderbilt University, MTSU,
African Street Festival,
The Homeless Power Project, MLK Day,
Nashville Peace and Justice Center,
The Bellcourt Theatre and many Coffee Shops
throughout the USA and
Europe, Public schools, local Cable TV,
correctional facilities and
even street corners!
Her calendar included hosting Lyrical Lava at Scojos
on 2nd Ave North every Thursday evening
and a monthly event she hosted at the
Famous Kijijis Coffee House on Jefferson Street,
in Nashville Tennessee.
Currently she is working on her third CD project
as well as getting ready
to tour the USA in the summer.
As Founder of Ink Diva Productions,
she takes on the diligent role of
Director and Producer for her annual
"Women of Words" fundraiser,
in which funds have been donated
for several years to the YWCA Women Shelter.
In addition to being nominated for the
Southern Entertainment Awards,
Simply Sil is a writer for a bi-monthly
online magazine and
co-hosts a weekly online radio show entitled
"Every Woman",
focusing on the struggles, victories,
strengths and the
survival tactics of artists and
how their art form has helped them
throughout their journeys.
She is the 2006 recipient of Muse Award
from Prysmatic Dreams,
the 2008 Margareth Smith-Beach Award and
the 2008 Soul Food Poetry Café’ for
Best Female Spoken Word Artist of the Year Award.
Her work has been featured in many publications
including the Nashville RAGE",
"The Scene", "The Tennessean" as well
as online magazines and e-anthology publications.
She is also the
recipient of several Poetry awards
and the winner of Slams and
Spoken Word/Poetry competitions.
